Amanda Mackey, MFT intern
Amanda is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Fairfield University. Between this and her psychology background from the Pennsylvania State University, she has developed a deep understanding of the recurring patterns that develop and slowly sneak their way into people’s lives. She works with a wide range of presenting problems, and believes that with every new life cycle transition, come both typical and unique stressors that affect individuals, couples, and families.
Amanda creates a space in the therapy room for her clients to feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves in a way that isn’t typical for them. She helps them to recognize their own unique strengths and resiliency. Through collaboration, Amanda and her clients work together to create new patterns of interaction around problems. These new patterns help her clients to better adapt to the difficult stressors, challenges, and transitions they are facing.
Amanda is a self-proclaimed foodie, and she loves to travel. She finds joy in working out and spending time with her family and puppy.
