Amanda N. Stashenko, M.S., Pre LPC

Christian Counseling Center Client Coordinator

Amanda N. Stashenko is a graduate from Capella University with a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Counseling Psychology. Currently, she is studying for her NCMHCE, which in passing will allow her to apply for her LPC license in the state of Connecticut. Within the next ten years, she would like to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis on Military Psychology, in hopes of working directly with active military members, veterans, and their families.

She is a behaviorist, and believes that many of the issues in life are a result of an imbalance between inward thoughts and outward behavior. Amanda uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in working with clients who suffer with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and other issues resulting from traumatic experiences. In addition, she works with individuals who have personality and mood disorders using dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) - a theoretical orientation that concentrates on mindfulness and individual accountability.

Amanda was born and raised in Fairfield County, where she still resides. She enjoys yoga, watching NY Rangers hockey, being outdoors, hiking, and her pet turtle, Mama. She is also very active in volunteer and charitable work,
