Edward J Ruiz II, M.A., LPC, NCC
After graduating from high school, Edward worked as a legal assistant helping families walk through difficult financial challenges. At the age of 21, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served just shy of 8 years of active duty as a Chaplain Assistant. He served at Fort Bragg, NC and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. During his active duty tenure, Edward spent 27 months abroad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and during his last duty assignment, managed to complete a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Liberty University's online program.
Over the years, it became more clear to Edward that the counseling profession was God's leading and calling in his life. He loves having conversations with folks about real and important issues in their lives, and feels the counseling profession is the best way for him to not only do what he loves, but to help and walk with others in the midst of their struggles.
Edward began his graduate studies in Mental Health Counseling in 2012, graduating from Nyack's Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in Nyack, NY. He is a Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor and a board-certified counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC; Norwalk, CT). Edward is an active member of Grace Church of Stamford, where he serves in various ways from music ministry, teaching, and prayer.
