Jennifer Friend, M.A.
Jennifer has a passion for all things related to human transformation and growth. She studied the intersection of psychology and religion at Vanderbilt University, received a Master's degree in Religious Studies in 2007 from the Institute of Religious Studies at the Archdiocesan Seminary of New York, and obtained her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University in 2015. She holds a post-graduate degree in Addiction Counseling from Albertus Magnus College.
Her approach to individuals, families, and couples is always first and foremost having a resilience lens that is trauma informed and person-centered. While she utilizes a systems based approach to therapy she also finds that compassion and curiosity bring out the many God-given, untapped resources we are all innately gifted with that can turn hardships, trauma, and psychological pain into spiritual and emotional growth. She utilizes her training in Applied Positive Psychology, as well as training in self-directed neuroplasticity, alongside her structural family therapy training. Her favorite thing about working with people is witnessing how absolutely amazing and unique each of us is and how change has a ripple effect beyond ourselves, to include growth in our relationships, families, and communities.
